syof group custom list!

july is almost over and i'm going to start taking syof group customs again :)  this time i am going to do things a little different.  so that EVERYONE can get a chance i'm going to allow mix up the rules a little.


1. you may only join 1 fabric group 
2.  your syof fabric group may consist of 3-15 people
3.  have your groups ready by august 1 with ALL information filled out in a google doc with the headers in this order


name/pp address/color of velour/fold over rise snaps (yes or no)/serged or turned/ regular, classic, nb


4.  everyone MUST have the same color snaps.  you may choose main snap color (the wings and hidden snaps) and a secondary color (the fold over rise and the crossover snaps)  or just 1 it is up to you.   i have nearly every color here is a KAM link to access the COLOR CARD


5.  velour colors:  you name it i probably have it.  they are not listed in photo but if you give me a general idea i will match it up.  i have nearly 30 different colors!




how will it work?  well everyone will be put on a list and i will work my way down.  on august 1 at noon EST i will open up sign up and then close it at promptly at 2pm EST.  it will be a form to fill out just a team name/group leader, you will then need to email me your completed spreadsheet by 2pm as well.  i will work through the list to make sure that everyone's information has been submitted correctly.  if it has not your group will not be able to move forward.  


after all the information is sorted out i will put all the groups names into the random.org list randomizer and come up with an order.  i don't expect it to be a fast process to get through them all but i want to start accommodating all groups.  depending on how many groups sign up it could be anywhere from 3-4mo to get through the whole list.  


how do you pay and when to ship fabric?  2weeks before i am ready to take your group i will send the group leader an email with your teams link to purchase and give you the go ahead to ship me your fabric.  from there you can expect your diaper to take 3-4weeks depending on how long your fabric takes to get to me.  


how much fabric do we need?  
estimates of how many diapers i can get per yard:

Some knits are wider than others  so for these numbers to work the fabric must be around 54in wide {a woven is appx 45in wide before prewashing}.  all excess fabric becomes property of tangerinebaby.  

• Woven {NON directional} 3 diapers per yard

• Woven {directional: meaning the print can only go 1 way} 2 diapers per yard

• Knit {NON directional} 4 diapers per yard

• Knit {directional: meaning the print can only go 1 way} 3 diapers per yard

photo contest!

its time for another photo contest at tangerinebaby!  here are the rules:

1.  starting now until next Wednesday {November 2} at noon submit 1 photo of your little one in anything tangerine.baby to tangerinebaby.com@gmail.com

2.  you can submit multiple photos for multiple tbaby's in the house but only 1 photo per kiddo

3.  on Thursday {November 3} i will upload them to an album on facebook

4.  there will be 2 winners...the first winner {with the most 'likes'} will get a free custom spot good for either a diaper, dress, undies...etc!  and the second winner {chosen by random from random.org}  will win a $10 discount code and a stalk free pass!  your photo will be uploaded to the album randomly so the number assigned will be where you are in the gallery.

5.  the contest will run until Monday {November 7} at noon and i will announce the winners shortly after.

Remember to respect your photographer and use the copyrighted image with their logo on it if you are submitting a professional photo.  Other than that have fun, snap some good shots before the weather turns bad and I can't wait to see them!

SYOF group custom information

SYOF group spots:


general information:

• your group may consist of 5-10ppl no more and no less to be considered in the large group drawing
• your group may consist of 3-4ppl no more and no less to be considered a small group
• it is not necessary to have your fabric on hand but I must receive shipping confirmation for the fabric within 2 business days.  
• each diaper will be $25 plus normal shipping and if your team has been chosen i will create a private listing on hyena cart and every member must checkout with their purchase within 12hrs of getting notification that its up.  
• i will use random.org to draw 1 large team a month
• i will use random.org to draw 2 small teams a month and in addition to these i will also stock a mini group spot every other week 

how to enter your team/cast ballot:

• on the first of every month at 12pm EST i will open up a thread on my main facebook page wall {not in the b/s/t group} and it will stay open until 8pm EST of the same day.  any ballots cast after 8pm will not be included.  
• BEFORE the team leader enters a ballot for their team they MUST email me their google doc with all information filled out completely and correctly to tangerinebaby.com@gmail.com
• that email should have in the heading {TEAM NAME} 
• team leaders will then enter their team by casting a ballot but they are NOT allowed any extra ballots.  that entry looks like this

• those participating in the groups may then cast ONLY 1 ballot.  if you are on multiple teams presumably you would enter for the fabric you'd most like to win.  your entry should look like this

• you may only be the team leader of 1 large group and 1 small group and may join only 1 other large group but you may join as many small groups as you like but remember you still only cast 1 ballot 
• the month prior i will also be creating a document and photo album in the b/s/t group where you may choose to enter your team or photo of the fabric your interested in.  this will help to keep the wall from moving too fast and things staying more organized.  it will also allow for easier access to if teams have open spots or not.  this is NOT necessary, if you are organized and ready to go, don't need help with fills in your group then don't worry about adding your information.

For all this to work it is important you have organized your group and be ready to go.  I will communicate only with the group leader so if you need to edit something you must contact her and have her get in touch with me.  This will help things to run smoothly and efficiently.

New Items!!

I have been working on some new things lately and I think that they are just the cutest things in the world!

The first is a cute cape that's perfect for fall or winter.  It's really great because you don't have to take off your little one's jacket when you put them in the carseat and it gives them some extra warmth in the car if needed.  Its 1 layer of light/medium weight wool and 1 layer of cotton woven fabric.  It could definitely be reversible too if you wanted to show off the fun print on the inside!  I'm going to open up customs on this in sizes 2/3, 4/5 & 6/7....  contact me through my etsy site if your interested!

Second is a sleeper set just for babies!  I will be making some of these to stock in the store and will open it up for some custom slots too.  The size I made is a small and probably wouldn't fit the tiniest of newborns so it has room for growth!   I can make these from preemie size all the way up to around 12mo (if you could get your 1yr old to wear one!)  same with the cape contact me through my etsy site if your interested in getting on the custom list!

  I do have some other cute things in the works...like some play dresses and rompers...and don't worry I'm expanding into things for boys too!

the babysitter....

its just so cute with the matching accessories!

dress...for a teenager!

i had a special request from the most awesome babysitter a girl could ask for...a cute summer dress! it turned out much better than i expected and will be making one for me soon...once i get my serger to stop acting up!

reversible swing dress..

love it! this version is much nicer than my last one. the lines are cleaner and much more professional looking :)

some skully love

i plan on getting some tshirts and embellishing some extra fabric to match. a sweet girl/boy combo! the skirt can also be a top/dress for a younger baby. its so stretchy :) i'm considering adding some removeable straps!

pillowcase dress

still working on a pattern that i love but these didn't turn out too bad. they are a little on the baggy/wide side but this fabric more than makes up for it! I'm considering adding some elastic thread to make them tighter at the top. i'll have to update them when i do!

butterfly yoga mat bag

i have a few of these just laying around the house that i made. i changed up the top on all of them to have an elastic top because after my tester gave me her honest review it was that the ribbon kept coming out. i like this better and its not difficult!

kitty cat dress

I made this dress weeks ago so that Annabel could wear this to a portrait party but the first got cancelled and then the second was just too cold. There is a good chance this will be heading to my Etsy store as well. I just love it too much to put on her and want it to get the proper loving :) I'm thinking about making a coordinating pair of bloomers to go with it!

I big puffy heart this fabric! Its from the Joel Dewberry Ginseng Collection. This one eventually will go in my Etsy store if I can keep it around long enough :)

Some Tie Shirts

I've had some lucky fellows have some birthdays lately so I used up some of my scraps to make some really cute tie appliqued shirts/onesies. Its the easiest thing and so adorable! I drafted a pattern and used a different length for the shirt and the onesie. The onesie being shorter because it's going to be tucked in a pair of pants. I hope to get these sent out tomorrow! Enjoy :)

Kelly's patchwork bag...

This was so fun to make! I think it turned out pretty good too. No pattern for this one just started cutting squares and sewing! The last picture is the inside. My friend picked out her fabrics and I wanted to incorporate all of them...even if some were on the inside. It could be reversed though if she wanted. If I wasn't so busy I'd make one for myself too. I just love these colors!
